Post-Processing Guide for Support Material RemovalDe-waxing Uniut

This guide provides the standard procedure for removing support material. Actual results may vary slightly based on specific conditions.

Preparation:

Ensure the following items are ready before starting:

  1. Magnetic Agitators
  2. Isopropanol (99%)
  3. Protective Glasses
  4. Beakers- 1.65 Liter
  5. Dust Masks
  6. Wire Mesh Basket
  7. Rubber Gloves

Note: Ensure the de-waxing area is well-ventilated or equipped with a ventilation system.

Procedure:

  1. Softening the Support Material:

    • Place the build plate on the heated platform of the magnetic agitator.
    • Carefully remove models one by one as the support material softens.
    • Note: Wear protective glasses, a dust mask, and rubber gloves before handling.
  2. Isopropanol Baths for Cleaning:MJP De-waxing Process

    • Prepare three separate beakers, each filled with 99% isopropyl alcohol, and place them on a heated magnetic stirrer.
    • Maintain the temperature below 37°C in all baths.
      • The first bath removes the majority of support material.
      • The second and third baths are for rinsing and final cleaning.
  3. Model Immersion:

    • Place models in the wire mesh basket, avoiding overstacking to prevent collisions.
    • Lower the basket into the beaker, ensuring it maintains a safe distance from the stirrer.
  4. Adjust Stirring:

    • Start stirring at a low speed, gradually increasing to enhance cleaning. Avoid overly high speeds to prevent model movement.
    • Check the dissolution level of support material every minute.
      • Note: As alcohol becomes saturated, its effectiveness reduces. It is recommended to dissolve no more than 100-120 grams of support material per liter of alcohol.
  5. Rinsing:

    • Remove models as soon as the support material is fully dissolved; do not leave them immersed for extended periods.Removing Support
    • Place the models in the second bath for 2-10 minutes for rinsing.
    • Transfer models to the third bath for an additional rinse of about 20 seconds.
      • Note: Use a thin wire or tweezers to handle delicate wax objects.
  6. Drying:

    • Dry the cleaned models using a small air gun or allow them to air dry. Place them on a paper towel or cloth to absorb any residual alcohol.
