Indutherm Continuous Casting: Advanced Alloy & Semi-Finished Production
Indutherm continuous casting machines empower manufacturers to produce custom alloys and semi-finished products—including wires, bars up to 90 mm, sheets, strips, and tubes—directly in-house. By utilizing an integrated casting system, facilities can significantly reduce material storage investments while increasing operational flexibility. Featuring the exclusive QUATTRO DRIVE drawing system and specialized vacuum technology, these machines are engineered to deliver superior surface quality and metallurgical integrity for high-end jewelry and industrial applications.
Unmatched Oxidation Prevention
To ensure the highest quality of copper-containing alloys like red gold or silver, Indutherm utilizes a multi-stage system to eliminate oxygen contact.
- Exclusive Vacuum System: Available on VCC versions, providing a vacuum-sealed melting chamber to prevent oxidation at the source.
- Atmospheric Re-Charging: Specialized feeding system allows for recharging the melt without breaking the vacuum or introducing oxygen.
- Inert Gas Management: Advanced inert gas flushing at both the melting chamber and the die outlet for secondary protection.
- Precision Cooling: Features automatic flow control, die coolers, and optical temperature measurement at the center of the die for rapid, controlled solidification.
Quattro Drive & Precision Drawing
The mechanical drawing unit is the heart of the continuous casting process, determining the surface finish and dimensional accuracy of the material.
- Quattro Drive System: Features four motor-driven feed rolls (rather than the standard two) to produce smoother tubes and sheets with significantly fewer transportation marks.
- Pneumatic Roll Pressure: Motor-driven rolls are pneumatically pressed to ensure consistent grip without mechanical slippage.
- Bar End Control: Integrated sensors automatically halt the drawing process once the molten material is depleted, preventing equipment damage.
- Automated Parameter Recognition: The control system recognizes installed kits (Bar, Sintering, or Granulation) and automatically adjusts display parameters.
Versatile Manufacturing Kits
| Optional Kit | Primary Application | Technical Advantage |
|---|---|---|
| Sintering & Diffusion | Multi-color rings and bracelets. | Pneumatic pressure prevents graphite breakage during heat expansion. |
| Granulation & Flake | Production of master alloys and casting grain. | Easy-to-install tank for rapid switching between cast shapes and grain. |
| Bar Casting Kit | Ingot molds and precise alloy quantities. | Automatic parameter syncing for precise dosing into molds. |
